Caravan Walking Tour of the oldest "intact" Cotton Mill Village of Porterdale Georgia.
Tour begins on the Covington Square

  • Learn Brief History of the Covington Square and how it is connected to the attached "Cotton Mill Village"
  • Learn about the history of cotton in Georgia and the start of the Cotton Boom!

This Tour is an "Introduction" to Covington and Caravan Tour of the attached Cotton Mill Village.

Guest will park on the square and will meet at the Flag Pole next to the Military Monument.  Tour Guides will then tell guests where to meet for the Caravan line-up. Each car will receive a two way radio to stay in contact with tour guides and to hear tour details during the 3 mile caravan into Porterdale GA. Once in Porterdale the tour will stop in several locations where guests will exit their vehicles to experience various locations. Guests should expect to ride and walk during this tour and should wear comfortable clothes and shoes. If guests are sensitive to the sun please bring sunscreen, visors, hats etc. The tour will end in Porterdale GA just 3 miles from where it started. Guides will be happy to recommend great places where guests can have a late lunch or early dinner.

We will tour historic Covington and end up in the Mill Town of Porterdale

Find Parking at or near the Downtown Historic Covington Square and walk over to the Flag Pole on the square at the Military Monument. You will know us because we are usually holding tablets or a clip board and wearing Portable Microphones.

Is there parking available?

Parking is available at each tour’s starting location. For the Day Tour and the 3 City Caravan Tour please park on the Covington Square  in a nearby area and we will meet at the Flag Pole on the square next to the Military Monument.

Are children allowed?

Children are allowed on “Day” Tours the Haunted History at Dusk/Ghost Tours are for adults 21 and over only.

Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?

Yes, advance ticket purchase is required. Events typically sell out quickly. To maximize your chances of getting the date, time, and number of tickets you prefer, please book well in advance.

Do you recommend taking both day and night tours?

Yes we recommend taking one of our day tours and our night ghost tour for the full historical story of our quaint village.

Do I need to tip?

Gratuities are greatly appreciated, although not mandatory. The standard gratuity in the service industry is 15%-20%.
