Learn the History & Culture of The Covington Mill Village. Visit “The Most Intact Mill Village in the Southeast and learn about the people that established the Cotton Industry. This is a distinct 90-120 minute walking tour of the Historic Porterdale Mill District. On Saturday May 1st we will visit the Porterdale Historic Mill as a special event tour. The tour starts at the Historic Porterdale Gymnasium and is approximately 1mile of walking with hills and steps. This is a Indoor & Outdoor guided Walking Experience. It is recommended that guests wear tennis shoes and comfortable clothing.
The speed limit in Porterdale is 25 MPH. If you are coming from the Historic Covington Square, the Porterdale Historic Gym is on your right at 2201 Main Street Porterdale Ga 30014. Park In Front of the Gym. From I-20 the Gym is on your left. Turn right into the parking lot at the SHOPS sign on the right just before the Gym at the crosswalk. Park in the spaces to your left that butt against the Porterdale Police Department. Cross the street at the crosswalk to the Gym.
